Two gorgeous butterflies visiting my friend Vera’s garden. First is the tiger swallowtail (I think).
Then a dark beauty arrives. Anyone know the name?

How pretty! Great shots.
What beautiful photos.
I think that ‘dark beauty’ butterfly is a Spicebush Swallowtail.

Oh yes that does look like it! Thanks so much Colleen. I was wondering if it was a type of swallowtail. I appreciate the information!
What beautiful photos Carol! I do think butterflies are such a pretty creature. We have a Buddleja bush and it’s lovely to see all of the different specimens of butterfly that come to it. I’m not too sure but the dark butterfly in your photo may be a Pipevine Swallowtail?
Hope you’ve had a lovely weekend.
Stunning butterflies! 🙂
They are so beautiful. We don’t get many butterflies in our garden. We tried putting up a butterfly feeder but I think it’s just too shady! #mmbc
SO incredibly lovely, Carol!
What beautiful photos and lovely butterflies…Thanks so much for sharing!!
Hugs,
Debbie
The first butterfly is soo dramatic and stunning – it could have a role in a Hitchcock movie! The second one is also beautiful, even though it has a dark color, much more comforting to me than the first one! It must have made your day being able to photograph them, when you were in Vera’s garden! Many thanks for sharing an have a beautiful week:)
Butterflies are beautiful creatures. Fantastic photos! #MMBC
Lovely shots of them love the colours too
Have a flitterflattertastic week 🙂
So astoundingly beautiful, Carol.
Happy Tuesday!
That same black butterfly was just at my house all summer. 🙂 Beautiful and I also enjoyed the yellow one as well. Love your pics.
Butterflies like you, Carol. How else can you get wonderful shots of them.
I never tire of seeing such beautiful butterflies! Absolutely stunning closeups!
My grands love butterflies. They chase them and love looking at the colors. Thanks for sharing and stopping by NanaHood!
Those are so pretty! I don’t know what type that second one is but it sure is pretty.
