Butterflies in Vera’s Garden

Two gorgeous butterflies visiting my friend Vera’s garden. First is the tiger swallowtail (I think).

Then a dark beauty arrives. Anyone know the name?

    1. Oh yes that does look like it! Thanks so much Colleen. I was wondering if it was a type of swallowtail. I appreciate the information!

  1. What beautiful photos Carol! I do think butterflies are such a pretty creature. We have a Buddleja bush and it’s lovely to see all of the different specimens of butterfly that come to it. I’m not too sure but the dark butterfly in your photo may be a Pipevine Swallowtail?

Hope you’ve had a lovely weekend.

  2. They are so beautiful. We don’t get many butterflies in our garden. We tried putting up a butterfly feeder but I think it’s just too shady! #mmbc

  3. What beautiful photos and lovely butterflies…Thanks so much for sharing!!

  4. The first butterfly is soo dramatic and stunning – it could have a role in a Hitchcock movie! The second one is also beautiful, even though it has a dark color, much more comforting to me than the first one! It must have made your day being able to photograph them, when you were in Vera’s garden! Many thanks for sharing an have a beautiful week:)
