Welcome to a mini-tour of my home decked out for Christmas.
My potted live tree is next to the porch with a few ornaments. This is year 4 for my live tree and he has grown well.
My front door is adorned with a gold and red rectangular wreath.
In the entry on a side table is my vintage porcelain Madonna light. A dear friend made it for me back in the 1970’s and it’s one of my favorite things. It’s hard to see the beautiful details when it is not lit.
It is a real beauty in the dark.
My bed is decorated with my DIY Christmas pillows from place mats. I found the place mats in summer 2017 on sale at the thrift store (75% off all Christmas items) for $1.50. Red cotton corduroy embroidered with white thread snowflakes. I sewed 3 sides and left an opening on one side with Velcro tabs.
My living room white futon is in soft colors with turquoise and white deer pillow covers and a quilted country throw in aqua.
I used a mix of vintage and new ornaments on the Christmas tree. I found these hand-decorated European ornaments at the thrift store. I believe they are at least 30 years old.
I’m very happy with the soft, vintage look this year.
I have pillows on my chairs.
On the side table is a snowman vignette with a new little evergreen tree.
My dining area is decorated with a live red poinsettia on a side table.
My dining table has a lace tablecloth and snowman place mats. A ceramic Christmas tree and a cute reindeer complete the table.
The corner of the dining room is another vignette with a small wall Christmas tree and a Christmas bouquet.
I hope you enjoyed my home tour with Christmas decorations.
Wishing you a blessed holiday!

Your poinsettia is so much healthier than mine. It’s looking at me as if I’m a plant murderer or something. I did enjoy your tour, so cheery and festive. I’d like to curl up on your bed and take a nap. Bet it smells like cinnamon in your house.
I’d love to have you visit. How about some Cookies and chocolate?

Hi Carol, what lovely decorations you had! The Madonna light is very pretty. I particularly like the old handpainted baubles, I have some on my tree (all other decorations are down, just te tree left now!)… I’m sorry I didn’t get around sooner, but ended up taking a break from all things internet.
Wishing you a happy and healthy 2019 and thank you for sharing your post at #keepingitreal.
xx
