It is so hot and humid here in Florida. I’m already looking forward to a slight cool down in the fall. I have my fingers crossed that there isn’t a huge storm like Irma this year. Toward the end of summer everything seems to be brighter – the sun and my colorful crotons. Today I’m sharing an end-of-summer table in blue and yellow.
The tablecloth is one I made when I first started blogging. I found a bag of remnants at the thrift store and made a tablecloth and curtains in bright blues and yellows. It’s perfect for August and September.
The place settings start with a white charger and then my vintage blue and white plates. They’re one of my favorite patterns.
This past spring I found the sunflower saucers at the thrift store. I knew the minute I saw them that they would be perfect with this tablecloth.
I added blue glasses and checked napkins tied with white rick rack to complete the place setting.
The centerpiece is a milk glass vase filled with summer flowers in yellow and white. It sits on a little colorful doily made by sister-in-law 30 years ago. I can’t tell you how many times I pull this little doily out to add color to my table. It even looks great against the natural wood. (I’ve told my sister-in-law that I own more of her creations than she does. She agreed. She has been very good to me.)
The salt and pepper shakers are thrift store vintage and displayed in my kitchen year round.
I hope you enjoyed this colorful table.

So bright and cheerful X #mmbc
Hi! I like your beautiful table very much. I like your vase filled with summer flowers too.
So pretty and so festive, Carol How I love that color combo!
thanks Jeanie!
So pretty! I just LOVE those sunflower saucers.
I do too!
Sweet setting. I have that same vase. And, a very similar doily. Your sister in law is talented. You don’t find people doing that kind of crocheting anymore. Happy almost Fall y’all. 😉
She is getting arthritus in her hands and doesn’t do the small crochet anymore. But she’s still quilting by hand!
Wow! Bless her heart. I wish I had such talent. My sister in law quilts too. Mean Ol’ Arthur gets to most of us these days.
Arthu is now my roommate!
What a colourful table display. it is so cheerful, just what we need at this time of year!
Hope all is well Carol! And thanks for sharing with #MMBC. Have a lovely weekend. x
Thanks Jayne. Hope your weekend is wonderful.
I love the way you blended all these elements together – I grew up with that exact blue and white dish set. My mom would have loved to see how they looked with the sunflowers.
I found the dishes in multiple trips to the thrift store. I do love the vintage look – they remind me of my childhood!
Love how you blended all the elements together! Absolutely beautiful and bright. Thanks for sharing at Reader Tip Tuesday! Hope you joined us this week, if not, it’s open and still growing!
