Al Fresco Uncured Chicken Bacon has 70% less fat and 40% less sodium than pork bacon. Now I’ve tried turkey bacon before and expected something similar. I stand corrected. Tasted like regular bacon with great flavor. It comes both uncooked and precooked and ready to use. Oh my I’m going to be experimenting with more ways to use it. If you’re interested in trying it, check out your zip code for stores that sell it. This is NOT a sponsored post.
Last week I bought bacon for the Zuppa Toscana soup I shared. The Al Fresco Uncured Chicken Bacon was so surprisingly good I used it today for my new Avocado BLT. Yum!
I’ve always loved a BLT – bacon, lettuce and tomato make a fabulous combination. I’m also very fond of avocados and tomatoes; it just seems that avocado with bacon and tomatoes just has to be great. Avocado contains the “good” kind of fat to help balance the fat in the bacon.
I’m using whole grain oat bread – my favorite bread – for my sandwich. My only regret is that the sandwich isn’t bigger. Use the bread of your choice but I do suggest a whole grain beauty toasted and ready for the layers.

Hope you enjoyed it! I’ve been on a BLT kick all week.
Hi, I do love a BLT but I’ve not tried this bacon version before #mmbc
It is really very good! I was surprised.
Carol – now that we have ended our vegetarian phase for Lent, I can actually try this delicious-looking BLT!
Let me know what you think Angie!
Oh wow! That looks so good. I could just eat it now! #MMBC
I’ve eaten up all the bacon making these over and over. Got to get some more! I think I’m addicted to it.
This looks fantastic, great job on the food photography. And it’s pretty healthy. I love a BLT but bacon is so bad for you and so salty it’s hard to find a better way and I think this is it.
I having been avoiding bacon for years until I found this version. Now I can’t stop making this BLT.
Hi Carol, oh my! This sandwich is the business! I will admit that I have never tried chicken bacon, but I can’t imagine not liking it. Now my planned breakfast of eggs on toast seems a little lacking.
xx
It’s opened a whole new world for me – I have to get more!
It’s not only delicious, but it’s beautiful!
