Strawberry Baked Brie

Florida produces the majority of fresh strawberries in the US in the winter.  Our big strawberry festival is in Plant City, Florida each March.  The 11-day Florida Strawberry Festival will run from March 1-11, 2018 and feature headline acts like Brad Paisley, I Love The 90’s Tour, and Babyface.  It is a fun food and music festival.  You wouldn’t believe all the strawberry dishes served.

I am busy eating fresh Florida strawberries, and I thought I’d share a great appetizer – Baked brie with fresh strawberries. Personally I love baked brie with a molten center.  If you’re not familiar with brie, check out my simple serving facts at Serving Brie.  Add fresh strawberries and balsamic vinegar and it’s a real treat.  I’m hungry already.

  1. Wow! I would love to go to the Strawberry Festival in Florida! I love, love, love strawberries! Your recipe of brie with strawberries and pecans sounds scrumptious since I love pecans, too! Makes my mouth water! Thanks for sharing! Pinned!

  2. Hi Carol, just looking at the photo is making my mouth water!.. I did see some strawberries in the supermarket last week, but they looked sad and ‘forced’. I’ll wait until they’re in season in a few weeks time. Saving the recipe for future reference!

  3. Living in Georgia so close to Florida, we get to stretch our fresh strawberry season! They are not ready until April here but Florida strawberries are in our grocery stores now! Brie with fruit is such a scrumptious treat. I’ve never tried it with strawberries but I will now! YUM!

    1. I lived in Cartersville for one year after college – a beautiful state. Glad you can get the fresh strawberries from Florida.

  4. Oh, how I’m longing for really good strawberries instead of those styrofoam-like strawberry shaped objects that they pass off for the real thing up here out of season! Looks like something I need to save for June!

  12. Hi Carol, I see I did comment on this before, but never got around to following your recipe. I actually have a wheel of cheese n the fridge, it could be camembert, but I’m sure it will do the trick!
