Back in my 20’s, I moved from Tennessee to Miami, Florida. Miami is an international city filled with multiple cultures and of course beautiful weather. I fell in love with Florida back then and lived in greater Miami and greater Ft. Lauderdale for many years. I moved to the west coast of Florida back in 2008, but I love to go visit friends in South Florida.
Living in a high-rise condo surrounded by the Miami Bay has its perks. Below is a view of Miami across the bay from a 16th floor condo balcony.
Drive down historic Biscayne Blvd, U. S. 1, and you’ll spot old motels from 50 and 60 years ago. Vagabond Motel has been restored – love it when they save old buildings. I haven’t stayed there but Huffington Post says it’s fully restored and super fabulous. The website says “.. sleek 1950s inspired custom-made furniture, hypo-allergenic Italian beds, free high-speed Wi-Fi, intricately stenciled geometric wall art, state-of-the-art flat-screen TVs, and stunning original terrazzo, wood or carpeted floors.”
They have a lot more photos. I’d love to stay there!
So many great restaurants are on the water in Miami. January, February, and March are the prime “season” for travel to Florida. Just sit, have a drink, and relax. There are countless views.
I’ll share more photos of Miami sights in the next few months. Thanks for sharing the sunny skies of Miami with me.
Please see my Link Parties page listing where I shared this post.
Hi Carol, we have some frineds enjoying a few weeks exploring Miami and I must say that so far they look like they are having fun! I can’t imagine living in a high ris ebuilding, but with views like that I could be persuaded!
xx
I enjoy visiting & seeing the views, but I do love having a house and garden.
I grew up in Tampa, Miami was a hike! I’ve moved a number of times, most recently from Annapolis MD to Colorado. We are having 11 deg today with snow! How good is Miami looking?lol
Lovely photos…thank you Carol!
I love mom and pop hotels and oh, I’d love to stay in the Vagabond. Sounds like it will be a wonderful time — certainly warmer than Michigan so I’m a tad envious!
Today here in Tampa Bay it’s upper 60’s to 72 with a light rain. The usual blue sky isn’t here right now, but I know in the morning I’ll probably wake up to a beautiful day. I’ve lived in MIchigan and love spring and summer – I really don’t like ice and snow so I feel for you right now.
It is amazing city! Wonderful shots. I’m relaxing seeing your photos.
Beautiful skies and views from the top! I’m thinking it is a big help to know the city as you did — we were a bit overwhelmed on our short visit and I’m sure we missed an awful lot.
Wow stunning city scapes, Carol! And the last Instagram photo is gorgeous!! Should have known when the best times were to visit Florida – was there two times (for a conference) in the month August – scary weather with hurricane like winds! No match for a spoiled California:) Many thanks for sharing this part of the country with All Seasons! Enjoy your week with nice Floridian weather:)
Sorry, I made a mistake, one time we were there in Nov.!
Simply incredible photos. I suppose you have to deal with window glare but what an opportunity for some exceptional photography. You make me want to visit and I’m not one for the heat. I bet the food is out of this world too. Those hotel rooms sound pretty cool and tempting for a long stay.
Yes window glare is unbelievable – these photos were taken on the balcony with no window.
It looks amazing. Making a mental note to visit in the early months of the year. Frosty here today, which is pretty, but I could do with a little warmth. #MMBC
It’s beautiful year round but folks from cooler climates can find the hot humid summer way too much. Winter is beautiful and so pleasant.
Wow! What a beautiful city…There are so many amazing views.
The view of the Miami skyline in the dark — Wow! I have been to other parts of Florida but I missed Miami. I love those highrises.
I don’t want to live in them but the views are astounding.
You’ve given me another view of Miami. It looks like a wonderful place to live in.
Like most cities, there are not great areas that you should avoid but most of it is beautiful.
That is one area of Florida that we have yet to visit! With young kids we’re usually in Orlando and this past year we went to Tampa (which we LOVED). I’d love to try another region with them… there’s just something about Florida that I love.
I understand. Great beaches in South Florida, great food! If you come back to Tampa area, let me know and I’ll give u the inside perspective.
I’ve been to Miami twice, but haven’t even scratched the surface.
Some wonderful views of the bay.
I have been to Miami once and really did not get out and about. I need to visit again.
Quite a contrast between the photos of Miami and the one of the beautiful snow scene at the bottom of your post! I vote for the warm weather myself, although the snow scene is positively gorgeous.

Lovely shots!
Gorgeous photos! I’d like to be there now. It is cold and grey here today. Have a lovely day! 🙂
I used to travel to Miami regularly for business, and it was always a pleasure to enjoy outside dining …. thanks for sharing your sunny skies with us in colder climates!!!
I have only been to Miami once but didn’t have enough time to properly explore. I would love to go back with my husband walk around the cool neighborhoods and eat as much as possible!
Great pictures.
Hubby and I enjoyed our time there. There is so much to do. Then there are the cruises that you can take. We did that too.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ♥
I have always wanted to visit Miami. the picture from the 16th floor is so pretty. Great view. Have a great day and thank you for the reading.
Hi Dee, thanks for visiting!
