Country Star Tablescape

Last summer on a hot day, I found a wonderful King size quilted sham at my favorite thrift store. I love going through vintage linen for a special find, like quilted items.  I knew from experience, it would be perfect on my small dining table.   It’s darker blues and burgundy reminded me of cool winter days.  I put it away for a winter table even though it could be used anytime of year.

Today’s table starts with the sham as a runner paired with a country vase and salt and pepper set I got at a different thrift store 4 years ago.  It’s like they are made for each other.  I love the farmhouse charm of a quilted star and hearts.

I added woven placemats for natural texture with my vintage blue and white china.

It’s a timeless look.

The centerpiece is in pink and reds. I added my one good-looking red hibiscus that wasn’t damaged by cold.

I also added a few red trumpet honeysuckle cuttings to add more color.  (The 2 nights of freezing temps didn’t faze the trumpet honeysuckle, still blooming!)

I hope you enjoyed the table.  Thanks for visiting.

  1. It’s a lovely tablescape. Isn’t it amazing how when you collect things you love, and buy them at different times, even in different years (!), it all comes together! Coming over from Sundays at Home.

  2. You’ve put together quite a cozy table – looks like everything has always been together. A bit jealous of the flowers from your garden – nothing of mine survived the back-to-back weeks of 0 temperatures.

    1. My red hibiscus is now dead from a freeze. I’ve lost quite a few tropicals. It makes me sad but I will replant at the end of February.

  3. Your tablescape is so cheerful. I find that color helps my winter blahs. Wait a minute, I love color ALL year long. As I live in Maine, I am jealous of your flowers; we got more snow today. Make do with silks for now; daffodils on the coffee table!

  4. Very pretty tablescape. The colors came together in perfect coordination with the pillow sham. My flowers are long gone, but your’s certainly look lovely! Thank you for sharing on Party in Your PJ’s. Pinned and shared!

  5. What a beautiful tablescape, Carol! I love how you have used the quilt sham and the flowers look amazing. I do hope your weather warmed up so the hibiscus weren’t damaged! Thank you so much for being a part of the Hearth and Soul Link party.

I love to make new friends and get to know you.
