Easy DIY Fall Holiday Art

I recently bought a new pillow cover that’s perfect for autumn through the holidays.  Don’t you love the beautiful deer art that’s everywhere?  This was an inexpensive cover that I could see on my white futon with a couple of tan pillows.  A deer with butterflies – I loved it.

When I opened the package and looked at it, I saw another possibility. It would make beautiful wall art with the right frame.

I looked at the several thrift store frames I have and found an off white that is about the right height.  The pillow cover would fit if I folded it.  Using cardboard cut to size of frame, I folded and taped the sides to the cardboard.  I didn’t cut the cover as I want to be able to use it on a pillow in the future.

The white frame looks great with the deer and butterflies.

This inexpensive art cost me about $6.50.  I love making something beautiful for a little money.

  1. That looks very stylish on the wall. I love to see our deer here on the farm roaming int heir field in autumn, may be I should try bringing a little art indoors too #MMBC

  2. What a lovely idea! I love how it looks so festive yet didn’t cost a fortune. I love reading about all your ideas, you’re so much more creative than I am 🙂

  3. Carol, you’re so right…the deer pillow cover/framed photo is so pretty! Looks great in the frame, and when you’re ready, you’ll so enjoy it as a pillow too! Very nice!

  4. It’s beautiful Carol, and clever idea to use it as art! I was contacted to do a review for them. I answered yes, but never heard back. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
