As autumn approached I began adding a few pumpkins and more texture in my home. Now in mid October, I am embracing the season. Below my front door has my cute little ghost wreath.

Just inside the front door is a wooden hook I use to display seasonal decor. In September, I added this mixed blue scarf with a copper metal sunflower hanger (above) to set the mood of the room. My challenge each fall is to add the look of the season within my range of coastal colors in the room.

Beside the sunflower hanger, I have my House Blessing. I bought this several decades ago and always have it somewhere near the front door.

For a soft autumn look, I have two new pillow covers with pink and gold pumpkins. The pillows look wonderful on the white futon with my coastal colored painting.

To the left of the futon, I have moved my small white side table. It displays my updated planter with more sunflowers. (This planter of live green houseplants is updated each season with artificial flowers appropriate for the time of year.)

I moved the original painting, Sunset on Florida Keys, to this corner to complete the vignette. This beautiful painting was a gift from my artist friend. I like to move my art around for a new look as the seasons change. I find shopping my own house is a great way to decorate.

To the right of the futon is my grandmother’s side table with my autumn vignette of peachy flowers, a tapestry pumpkin, pine cones, and a deer. They’re displayed on a vintage quilted pillow sham.

Entering the dining area to the right is my framed “Autumn is A Second Spring” printable.

The dining table has a pumpkin, flowers, and cupcakes with printable pumpkin toppers.

Isn’t it fun to shop your house and find new ways to display treasured items? I love to do this, too! Those new pillow covers are beautiful!
Thanks Debbie – have a blessed day!

Thank you for visiting and sharing your thoughts.
You’re so creative – love the touches you’ve made to your home to bring in a real fall feeling. I especially like the look of those cupcakes, but then again I like the looks of anything made of chocolate 🙂
Chocolate does do it!
Beautiful touches of Fall Carol! They give your home a cozy feel. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
Very pretty. I love this time of year.
All that and cupcakes! I’m just beginning to embrace fall myself but a throw rug here, a plastic spider web bread basket there, nothing like you.
That’s just me. Remember I’m trying to enjoy a season that’s not the same here. Florida is not really a colorful tree place. I miss that but I love living here. Funny, huh? So like a lot of folks here as each season comes I buy a few potted plants like tulips in spring, hydrangea and mums in fall. They don’t really grow here but we want the flowers. The pumpkins I enjoy getting me in the spirit for Halloween and then Thanksgiving. I mean the high was 85 today.
Hi there! I love what you’ve done with your home. So sweet and inspiring. And I love the white pumpkin as the table centerpiece. Your neighbor at the encouraging heart and home blog hop.
thanks for visiting!
Hi Carol. Autumn is well represented in your home. The touches are warm and welcoming. I move my art around too. The pieces I am not using currently are stored behind the couch at the ready for when I want them.
I know – I love hiding things away until I need them. Thanks for visiting!
Your home looks so warm and inviting Carol, with all the little touches everywhere. And those cute little pumpkin toppers on the cupcakes, too sweet. Love the one with the eye patch
