Purple Iris Table

Back in 2000, I began collecting Corelle’s Shadow Iris for my everyday china.  I love the feminine design and colors.  The round collection was produced from 1985 to 2015.   They then produced a modern square set with the same iris graphic.

Today’s table has the original round design with hand blown purple glasses. The centerpiece is on a matching Shadow Iris platter.  The salt and pepper shakers are small white porcelain birds.

The place mats are vintage pillow covers I got several months ago at the thrift store.

I’m very fond of the set and use it often.  Besides the design, I love the light weight and durability.  It’s great for families of all ages.

Purple Iris

Understated and sophisticated, the Shadow Iris collection depicts tall wisps of purple irises that add a subtle, Eastern-inspired element to any table setting.

If you’ve followed my blog very long, you know I love to move my art around for different seasons, holidays, or inspiration.  Last month I moved my Pharaoh’s Daughter art plate to the corner of the dining room. The white with purple is appropriate for spring into summer.

  1. Your table is beautiful Carol! The Iris is my favorite flower. I have the Spring Song by Pfaltzgraff set that I have used for over 20 years as my daily dishes. It has a pretty purple and blue iris on it. I always wished I would have purchased the Corelle pattern while it was in stock.

    1. The Corelle pattern I believe is still available in the square pattern Iris. I love its durability and light weight. Thanks for visiting!

  2. I’ve never seen these dishes before. They are very lovely! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
