Nautical Blue Coastal Tablescape

When I was a teenager, I fell in love with spring outfits with nautical colors like navy blue with white, red or even spring green accents.  I was 19 when I bought my first navy and white set of jacket, skirt and pants. I’ve never lost my love of nautical blue motifs even though my retirement wardrobe includes no nautical suits. Today’s post is a nautical coastal table with blues, whites, pops of red,  and rustic touches of jute.

Recently I made napkin rings and a jar with touches of jute.  For this table, I started with the jar filled with shells and added greenery and real hibiscus flowers.  My mermaid sits next to the floral display creating a centerpiece. Shells from my collection were sprinkled around the center piece.

The place settings start with vintage plates with a ring of lighthouses on the edge.  White saucers and smaller blue and white dishes are layered. The plates are topped with a red hibiscus flower from the yard in blue glasses from Dollar Tree.

The blue checked napkins in the rustic napkin holders are the final touch with larger blue glasses to the side.  I love this blue coastal table  with pops of red.

  1. Carol, this is gorgeous! What a beautiful tablescape for spring. I’ve got lots of shells and nautical themed things, and I’m feeling very inspired! Thank you so much for sharing with us at Hearth and Soul. Hope to ‘see’ you again this week!

  2. Very fun! I love the striped plates. I bought a Navy life preserver to use in the middle of my soon to create, nautical mantle. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
