Vintage Find For A Farmhouse Table

Last week I visited my favorite thrift store which was having a 75% off sale. As usual, I looked at all the vintage linens. I’ve made curtains, pillow covers, and tablecloths from previous finds. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw something quilted.

It is a beautiful small quilt with curving edges. I turned it over and saw that it was a quilted sham cover for a king size pillow, but in my mind I knew it would be gorgeous on my dining table.

I needed beautiful flowers to go with it.

I bought two small bunches of roses at Aldi.

I choose white roses and peach roses which I thought would go well with the colors of the quilt.

The look makes me happy and is just what I needed after putting away all the holiday decor. God bless!

  3. This really does look great in the center of your table. I love the curved edges, I am sure that someone put a whole lot of work into this piece. And Roses always seem to brighten the day, I love the peachy orange roses the best. That color just makes me smile.

  4. Carol, The proportions of that quilted piece are perfect for your table. I’m glad you are happy with it. It looks great. at 75% off the price must have been pretty good too. Wishing you a happy new year in 2017. Sylvia D.

  7. Hi Carol, what a great find and a lovely way to brighten up the house again.I do think how lovely it would be to be crafty, my Mum is nifty with a sewing machine too, unfortunately I never quite got the hang of it.

    1. I have never been good with a sewing machine either, but I do appreciate others’ talents. Have a great day!

  8. Carol…since I am a quilter, I love the quilt you found. I, too, have found a few quilts at our local thrift store. Yours is a wonderful find. And you did a great job in displaying it. Thank you for sharing at Monday’s Musings.

    1. I don’t have your talent in quilting but I do love them. My sister-in-law does hand sewn quilts and I wish I had that skill. Have a wonderful day.

I love to make new friends and get to know you.
