Early Signs of Autumn

When I visit my sister in Michigan every August, I always look across the street at her neighbor’s yard. There are two small trees whose leaves turn early for fall.  Living in Florida, this is the closest I get to autumn leaves.

This year was no exception.

I was raised in Tennessee but have lived in Florida for many years. Love my small home in the Tampa Bay area and its developing garden. My decorating style is eclectic - some vintage, some cottage, all with a modern flair. Pursuing a healthier lifestyle. Spent many years in social services but am happily retired.

  1. Love the changing colours. It seems to have happened earlier this year, in my little bit of the U.K anyway. Is it no different in Florida at all? I remember we went to Disneyworld one year and they had fake snow and we were in shorts 🙂

    1. In my area – Tampa Bay to the west of Orlando – some trees lose their leaves. They turn brown and drop off. No beautiful colors. Some trees don’t lose their leaves. Not at all like up north.

  2. Hi Carol. Summer to Autumn is the only season change we see — because we’re in Oregon this time of year. When we traveled by RV we loved Autumn best of all — it was so fun to chase the season as we traveled. But nowadays, we’re in Oregon from July to December and then Florida the rest of the year…. so we don’t see any change of season from Winter to Spring (that I can notice anyway) and nor from Fall to Winter. So I love watching the leaves turn while we’re here. I’m glad you got to visit your sister and see some season changes.

But I’m also glad you are in Florida for the Winter Season, because I love being there then too!!!

    1. You get to see the best of both places except for missing spring in Oregon. I do love spring when everything comes alive.

  3. There is a refreshing vibrancy that come with the changing of seasons. I have lived in Texas for over ten years and I miss the changing of seasons.

  4. Wow stunning I would love to see fall in USA it looks so beautiful, we have only ever visited at summer x

    1. Spring is my favorite season when everything comes alive after winter. I miss the leaves changing in fall and the spring bulbs up north pushing thru the ground, but I do love the Florida sun. Thanks for visiting.

    1. I believe they are a type of maple but I’m not sure. They are smaller than most maples but yes they do have a beautiful shape and the prettiest leaves.

I love to make new friends and get to know you.
