DIY Homemade, Chemical Free Beauty Treatment: Avocado Hair Conditioner

The world of beauty products is filled with chemicals.  Some are really not good for you. That is one of the things I love about homemade beauty products.   Today we’ll talk about a homemade treatment for dry hair.  It’s a natural, easy, DIY recipe to repair and hydrate dull, fly-away hair,  avocado hair conditioner. The ingredients are simple and naturally good.  Cut a Haas avoicado in half. Mash one half in a bowl and add oil.  Avocado is full of protein and nutrients to moisturize dry dull hair. Olive oil and sweet almond oil are lightweight and contain essential fatty acids to strengthen hair.

Make a spa day at home while you pamper your hair.  Leave the conditioner on your hair for at least 30 minutes.  Relax, read a magazine, and listen to your favorite tunes.

  1. I have heard of this homemade hair treatment, but could never seem to find the “recipe,” this would be great for my hair as I am outside so much and the heat and humidity really gets to my hair.

    1. Let me know if it helps. My mom and grandmother both had dry hair and were always looking for ways to condition. My sister and I both have oily hair – don’t know where we got it!

  2. I am going to try this, My hair is always been so thick and heavy that I have to have my hairdresser thin it out a bit or I am constantly sweating. Plus my bill for hair conditioner alone to keep frizz down? Glad you shared this!

    1. Hope it helps! I am envious about your thick hair – I have fine, straight hair. Can’t do a thing with it!

    1. It shouldn’t leave it greasy as you are shampooing as usual, but if your hair is oily, it’s not recommended. It is best for dry hair especially if is processed such as bleached.

  3. Carol, I love homemade hair treatments and trying them out! Thanks for sharing the recipe with us at Snickerdoodle Sunday! Pinning to share.
