A natural, easy, DIY recipe to soften and moisturize your skin. No chemicals, or harsh ingredients are contained if you use liquid castile soap, such as Dr. Bronner’s. It is made with organic oils and no detergents which would strip your skin of its natural oil. Honey naturally attracts and retains moisture yet is gentle, which makes it ideal for all. Cleopatra was famous for her milk and honey baths. Since the recipe contains liquid soap as well as nourishing oils for your skin, you get the benefits of a bath oil and the addition of bubbles. If you are like me, (I have dry skin on my body but oily skin on my face), do not put the bath water on your face. Wait until you are out of the tub to wash your face with your regular cleanser or natural soap.
Ingredients:
1 cup sweet almond oil, olive oil, or sesame oil
1/2 cup liquid castile soap
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 cup honey
Directions:
- Place oil in bowl; stir in remaining ingredients until fully blended.
-
Store in clean jar and shake before using.
-
Add to running bath water.
-
Enjoy!
