Colorful berries are powerhouses of antioxidant power that are both tasty and healthy for you. The little jewels of summer like strawberries, blueberries, raspberries are available in most areas throughout the year. Frozen berries make every type of berry easily accessible to add flavor and punch to your diet. They are good for your gastrointestinal health, your heart, and help keep your mind alert. In fact, one landmark study shows that just one cup of berries provides all the disease-fighting antioxidants you need in a single day.
Today’s recipe is a fruity smoothie to pack in lots of support for your health when you start your day. Cranberries, blueberries, strawberries and green tea make such a tasty treat you’ll forget it’s good for you. Add a little yogurt for protein if you wish. You can use fresh or frozen berries. If all the fruit is frozen, you can have it in a bowl with a spoon or add more juice to reach desired consistency.
